Altruist is transforming the wealth management industry with an AI platform for financial advisors. The company is seeking a Security Operations Manager to lead detection, response, and security monitoring for a self-clearing broker-dealer platform.
In this role, you will lead and mentor the security operations and detection & response team, setting priorities and career development paths. You'll own the 24x7 security monitoring strategy across the managed detection & response provider and run the incident response program end-to-end, from detection through containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident review.
Key responsibilities include defining and reporting on SecOps metrics and SLAs (MTTD/MTTR, alert quality, coverage) to security and executive leadership. You'll mature detection engineering, threat-intelligence ingestion, and response automation (SOAR) capabilities. You'll drive regular tabletop and purple-team exercises, partner with Cloud, IT, and Engineering teams to close security gaps, and own the day-to-day operation and roadmap of the security operations tooling stack.
You bring 6+ years in security operations, including 2+ years leading or managing a SOC or detection & response team. You have hands-on incident response and investigation experience in cloud-first environments, with depth in SIEM tools (Datadog/Splunk), EDR/MDR solutions (CrowdStrike/SentinelOne), and AWS cloud telemetry. Experience managing MDR/MSSP and IR retainer relationships is valued.
You're technically savvy and comfortable across modern cloud and detection stacks (AWS, Kubernetes, SIEM query languages, detection-as-code, Terraform). You lead through influence, operate with urgency, and possess superb communication skills. A B.A./B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent experience is required. Bonus points for experience in regulated environments (SEC/FINRA, fintech).
