Salary: AUD 110,000 - 140,000 / annual

Huntress is a cybersecurity company founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, providing enterprise-grade security solutions to businesses of all sizes. The company operates a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC) and currently secures over 5 million endpoints and 14 million identities worldwide. As a Security Operations Analyst, you will be a hands-on SOC analyst responsible for detecting and responding to cybercrime threats. Your primary responsibilities include triaging and investigating active intrusions, tracking attackers through networks, and coordinating their removal before objectives are achieved. You will analyze endpoint telemetry, review logs, leverage forensic artifacts, and perform malware analysis to determine the full scope of intrusions. Key responsibilities include: - Triage, investigate, respond to, and remediate alerts generated by the Huntress platform - Review EDR/SIEM telemetry, log sources, and forensic artifacts to determine root causes and provide remediation - Perform dynamic malware analysis to extract indicators of compromise - Contribute to detection capabilities and queue hygiene through signal crafting and tuning - Investigate activity in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace with actionable remediation advice - Support customer success by assisting with escalations and threat-related questions - Partner with Product and Engineering teams to evolve human-led agentic workflows - Grow skills through real-world intrusion data, training, and responsible AI tool usage You will work one of three shift options: Western Australia (Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm AWST), East Coast (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm AEST), or East Coast (Tuesday-Friday, 8am-6pm AEST). REQUIREMENTS: - 2+ years of experience in SOC, Incident Response, Managed Detection and Response, or Digital Forensics roles - Demonstrated experience with at least one of Windows, Linux, or macOS, including attack surfaces, malware analysis, and threat actor tools/techniques - Understanding of common system administration skills and how threat actors abuse them (Active Directory, PowerShell, Group Policy, local account creation) - Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK techniques and tactics including credential dumping, lateral movement, persistence mechanisms, and exfiltration - Working knowledge of core networking concepts (common ports/protocols, NAT, public/private IP addresses, VLANs) - Passion for forensics with ability to dig into logs, processes, and artifacts - Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to simplify complex findings for diverse audiences - Self-guided learning mindset to keep skills current - Ability to use AI tools effectively in security analysis with sound judgment and output validation - Team-player mindset with ability to work in a supportive, collaborative environment
