Plaid is seeking a SEC Reporting Manager to lead financial reporting readiness efforts for a fintech company powering millions of users across financial services. The role sits within the Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting team, which drives operational excellence, financial transparency, and scalable processes.
Key responsibilities include owning the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements (S-1, 10-K, 10-Q filings). You will lead close-to-reporting processes, ensuring financial statements and supporting schedules reconcile to source records, with variances understood and documented. The role involves supporting XBRL tagging and regulatory reporting requirements, partnering cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Investor Relations to align reporting inputs and improve end-to-end processes.
You will prepare or review journal entries and reconciliations for complex areas including stock-based compensation and leases, evaluate accounting impacts of complex transactions through technical research, and serve as the key point of contact with external auditors. A significant component involves identifying and implementing process, system, and AI-enabled improvements to increase reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Required qualifications include a minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with 2+ years at a Big 4 audit firm and progressive SEC reporting experience at a public company. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks is essential. You must demonstrate ability to research and resolve complex technical accounting issues, exceptional attention to detail, and strong project management skills. Preferred experience includes supporting an S-1 filing, public readiness preparation, and NetSuite familiarity.
