As a Screening Compliance Analyst II on Coinbase's CX Compliance team, you will conduct end-to-end screenings of customers, individuals, and entities to protect the company from financial crime risk. You'll analyze screening results independently using compliance tools and databases, escalate potential risks to the Financial Crime Risk Service team, and contribute to process improvements that strengthen screening accuracy and scalability.
Key responsibilities include owning screening processes to identify risks associated with customers and entities, analyzing transaction activity and KYC information to recommend escalations, maintaining detailed documentation of screening decisions for regulatory compliance and audit purposes, and incorporating feedback from Quality Assurance teams to improve accuracy. You'll also identify gaps in screening procedures and recommend process improvements that reduce risk exposure and increase operational efficiency.
The role requires 2+ years of experience in compliance screening, financial crimes prevention, KYC/CDD, or investigations within financial services, crypto, or fintech. You should demonstrate ability to analyze customer information against sanctions lists, PEP databases, and adverse media sources with accuracy meeting regulatory audit standards. Familiarity with KYC onboarding processes, sanctions screening tools (Hummingbird, World-Check, or similar), and regulatory frameworks governing customer due diligence is essential.
You must be able to clearly summarize screening findings in writing, escalate risks with supporting evidence, and communicate outcomes to compliance stakeholders. The role requires availability to support 24/7 screening operations with flexibility for shift work. Experience using generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality is valued. Coinbase is a remote-first but not remote-only company, with quarterly in-person working sessions called "surges."
