Cradle is an AI-driven software platform for protein design and optimization, enabling biologists to discover and engineer proteins faster and at scale. The platform serves clients across biopharma, biotech, agri-tech, food-tech, and academia. The company is well-funded with ~100 employees distributed across Amsterdam, Boston, Zurich, and remote roles.
As a Scientific Solutions Consultant, you are the primary scientific and technical solution lead responsible for presenting Cradle's capabilities, value, and benefits to key stakeholders—including scientists, experimental and computational biologists, IT leaders, and executives—at both prospects and existing customers. You will be the trusted technical voice throughout the entire buying journey, partnering closely with Account Executives and the broader Go-To-Market team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct scientific and technical discovery to understand customer landscapes, uncover projects, and identify capabilities and challenges
- Listen intently to customers' protein engineering workflows and ask insightful questions to understand how Cradle can support their research objectives
- Develop impactful presentations and deliver compelling demonstrations of Cradle's offerings that address customer challenges and differentiate Cradle from competitors
- Manage customer questions and objections professionally, establishing credibility and trust in both you and Cradle
- Attend industry-relevant conferences and represent Cradle to scientific and technical audiences
- Bring field insights back to product teams to inform and influence the product roadmap
- Develop best-in-class solutions, assets, and content to support customers and enable team learning
- Mentor and partner with other Scientific Solutions Consultants to build their success and raise team standards
- Embody and represent Cradle's mission and values
You will travel 20–40% of the time, including international travel (passport required).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Scientific academic degree (MS or PhD) in biology, biochemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemical engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience post-degree, preferably in a solutions consultant role or related customer-facing roles
- Experience with scientific/informatics software (LIMS, ELN, etc.) or other technical solutions sold/delivered into research and discovery functions is helpful, especially if you have demonstrated such solutions to research and computational scientists
- Ability to quickly understand various wet lab experimental workflows relevant to enzyme and therapeutic protein design is essential
- Hands-on experience with designing and executing high-throughput wet lab experimental workflows is a plus
- Experience with computational protein design (as a grad student or professional), potentially involving AI/ML techniques, is helpful
- Strong foundation in life sciences R&D, familiarity with research scientists' and computational biologists' experience and tools, and excellent communication skills to translate Cradle's platform capabilities into value for scientists and research organizations
- Willing and able to travel 20–40%, including international travel (passport required)
