BlueOptima is seeking a Sales Manager to lead a team of Account Executives closing enterprise deals across the UK and EMEA region. You will manage a team focused on complex sales cycles with deal sizes typically in the £100k to £200k ARR range, working with CIOs, CTOs, VP Engineering, and CFO buyers at large software engineering organizations.
In this role, you will cultivate a culture of success and continuous improvement through hands-on coaching and direct involvement in sales activities. You will use sales data and team performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, implementing actionable insights to enhance sales tactics and team productivity. Your leadership will guide the team through complex multi-stakeholder deal structures while leveraging structured sales methodologies.
You will partner closely with Marketing and SDR leadership to identify new pipeline generation opportunities, and with Customer Success leadership to surface expansion opportunities within the install base. The company focuses on helping enterprises measure software productivity, AI ROI, and engineering cost—problems that have become board-level priorities as AI-generated code flows into enterprise codebases at scale.
BlueOptima is profitable, bootstrapped, and has 20 years of enterprise relationships. The sales organization is mid-build with genuine enterprise traction and real room for growth. The natural progression from this role is into second-line leadership, based on performance and company growth.
Workplace: London HQ with hybrid arrangement (3 days in office, 2 remote). Benefits include 32 days holiday, 12 weeks paid parental leave, 4 weeks annual flexible remote working from anywhere, work-from-home equipment allowance, and sponsored learning opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Enterprise SaaS sales leadership: At least 3 years managing sales teams closing complex enterprise deals in the £100k to £200k+ ARR range
- Engineering domain experience: Direct experience selling into software engineering organizations (developer tooling, engineering analytics, observability, SDLC platforms, or similar). Must be able to hold credible technical conversations with VP Engineering and CTO buyers without relying on a solutions engineer. Understanding of how software gets built is essential; prior development experience is not required
- Executive-level selling: Comfortable engaging CIO, CTO, VP Engineering, and CFO buyers with credibility in multi-stakeholder deal structures
- Hands-on coaching style: Demonstrated ability to develop team through direct involvement in sales activities, including joint calls and co-selling
- Data-driven decision making: Highly analytical, leveraging pipeline and performance data to make informed decisions and adapt quickly
- Structured sales methodology: Exposure to value-based selling methodologies and MEDDPICC discovery framework in multi-stakeholder environments
VALUED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with AI products, AI governance, or engineering productivity measurement
- Background in land-and-expand motions within large enterprise accounts
- Openness to using AI to amplify skills and strengthen work, demonstrating curiosity and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly
