As a Sales Manager based in Shanghai, you will drive growth by closing new business and building a diversified portfolio of clients in the Greater China region. You'll have autonomy in achieving growth goals with continued guidance and coaching. The role combines sales execution with strategic account development, requiring you to lead discovery calls with prospects, consult on supply chain solutions, and collaborate across Flexport's operations teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify and lead local sales initiatives targeting Chinese brands and enterprise clients
- Conduct consultative discovery to understand clients' logistics and supply chain needs
- Create value-driven solutions leveraging Flexport's full product portfolio
- Establish scalable commercial processes and systems
- Partner with Account Managers to drive client success and revenue generation
- Provide market intelligence and data analysis
- Identify upsell opportunities and develop strategic account plans
- Collaborate with client operations teams on pipeline development
You should thrive in unstructured, multi-stakeholder environments and be comfortable getting hands-on. The role requires strong analytical skills, relationship management capabilities, and the ability to run structured sales processes from discovery through close. You'll be expected to take on projects outside your comfort zone and learn quickly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5–8 years of experience in commercial and analytics-heavy functions
- Proven relationship management and project/program/process management skills
- Demonstrated ability to run sales discovery, demo meetings, and structured sales processes
- Proven success building and maintaining long-term commercial relationships
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Deep understanding of real-world supply chain concepts and industrial/product supply chains
- Knowledge of Greater China logistics and freight forwarding
- Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
- Ability to work independently and deliver on a broad portfolio of responsibilities
- Competitive and creative mindset with ability to think outside the box
- Excellent communication skills and strong people instincts
- Willingness to challenge internal and external status quo when warranted
