Clearly AI is a continuous threat modeling platform trusted by Fortune 500s and global brands (Rivian, Ericsson, HID Global, PayPal, and others) to help security, privacy, and GRC teams cover more ground with accurate, source-cited assessments. Backed by Y Combinator and top-tier VCs, the company is early-stage, deeply technical, and building alongside real practitioners.
You will own the technical case in enterprise sales cycles, paired with a sales counterpart who runs the deal. Your buyers are security, AppSec, GRC, and privacy leaders at Fortune 500s who will stress-test both the product and your credibility.
Key responsibilities:
1. Technical Discovery & Demos: Conduct deep discovery on how prospects run security reviews today, identify bottlenecks before they do, and build custom demos using their own artifacts and processes rather than generic sandboxes.
2. Proof of Value: Convert vague requirements ("less effort," "reasonable quality") into measurable success criteria. Stand up tenant environments, load customer knowledge bases, and run midpoint checks and technical readouts against signed agreements.
3. Enterprise Architecture Conversations: Own technical decisions that close deals—tenancy and data isolation, SSO/SAML/SCIM, deployment patterns, model providers, data residency, and audit defensibility. Answer accuracy and hallucination concerns with evidence. Explain positioning against threat modeling tools, scanners, GRC platforms, and in-house solutions.
4. Reusable Assets: Convert evaluation friction into actionable feedback for engineering. Build demo environments, POV templates, and technical answers the team can leverage independently.
This role is NOT a Forward Deployed Engineer (you hand off at signature), product management, or a script-reading position. You will meet in person 1–2 times per quarter; Seattle/SF preferred, remote acceptable.
Requirements:
- 5+ years running security and privacy reviews for large enterprises, OR in sales engineering, solutions architecture, or technical pre-sales roles selling to security teams
- Command of enterprise security architecture: tenancy and data isolation, data residency, AI governance
- Fluency in security practitioner language (STRIDE, DPIA, TPRM, CVE, SSDLC)
- Proven ability to run multi-week technical engagements to deadline without scope drift
- Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow, GitHub, Confluence, or OneTrust and how review workflows integrate with them
- Strong written communication; success criteria, test plans, and readouts are key deliverables
Strongly preferred:
- Hands-on experience with threat modeling, privacy impact assessments, or vendor risk assessments
- Working knowledge of enterprise identity and deployment: SSO/SAML/SCIM, IP allowlisting, model providers
- Early-stage startup experience
Note: You do not need to have carried a quota or held a sales title. If you fit the role but don't check every box, explain what you'd bring instead.
