This is a full-time, in-office Sales Development Representative (SDR) role based in Artera's downtown Santa Barbara headquarters. This position is designed as a dedicated fast track to equip you with fundamental skills needed for a high-earning, long-term sales career in healthcare technology, with a clear promotion path to Account Executive.
You will own the outreach engine, designing and executing strategic multi-channel outbound campaigns (phone, email, LinkedIn, video) to initiate conversations with key decision-makers (C-Suite, VPs) at major healthcare systems. You'll become a qualification expert, rapidly researching and deeply qualifying new business opportunities to ensure high-quality pipeline development for the Account Executive team. Your role involves conducting pre-call intelligence through in-depth research on prospects and accounts to tailor messaging and demonstrate preparation. You will utilize Salesforce daily to track progress, manage follow-up cadences, and provide critical market feedback to leadership. Collaboration is essential—you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with Account Executives and Sales Leadership to test new strategies, refine messaging, and participate in role-playing sessions to sharpen your technique.
This is a Monday-Friday, in-office role requiring 5 days per week presence at the Santa Barbara headquarters. You'll join a high-energy, collaborative team where team success is celebrated and you'll build your network while gaining foundational business acumen.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree OR 1-2 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing, or goal-oriented role (e.g., retail management, university fundraising, competitive sports, military service)
- Highly motivated and intrinsically driven with a strong desire to compete and achieve ambitious personal and professional goals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with confidence to professionally engage senior executives
- Growth mindset: naturally curious, eager to learn cutting-edge sales methodologies, and receptive to direct coaching and feedback
- Team-centric attitude and excitement about working in a high-energy, collaborative in-office environment
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States with ability to provide proof of full-time, long-term authorization; no visa sponsorship available
Bonus qualifications:
- Previous exposure to B2B technology sales or internships
- Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce or outreach automation platforms
- Experience in high-volume cold calling or professional phone-based outreach
- Interest or background in healthcare or healthtech industry
