In this role, you will own sales compensation operations end-to-end, working hands-on with a high-volume queue of compensation questions daily. You'll diagnose missing deals, target corrections, and headcount and revenue discrepancies; resolve what you can directly; and route complex issues to Systems, Analytics, or Accounting with supporting evidence. You'll close the loop on every ticket, ensuring reps' commissions—their paychecks—are accurate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the monthly turnover for sales compensation trackers: building each new month, refreshing rosters, loading targets, multipliers, and accelerator thresholds, and QA-ing formula and roll-up integrity before managers and reps see anything.
- Monitoring automated daily data-health alerts, investigating every warning or failure to root cause, and verifying fixes after the next refresh.
- Investigating Salesforce data issues that break compensation credit (duplicate records, wiped dates, miscoded fields) using AI and SQL.
- Applying mid-month roster changes (prorated targets for exits, transfers, promotions, leave returns, and time off) according to documented policies, with double-checking of each change.
- Keeping rep self-serve tools current, including payout calculators, deal-status lookup, and chatbot, flagging where AI tools get answers wrong.
- Using Claude and other AI tools across formulas, data comparisons, record lookups, and drafting replies, while knowing where to verify results yourself.
You'll work with a distributed team across US time zones and select international offices, communicating primarily in writing with teams in different time zones.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years in a recurring, accuracy-critical operations role (commissions or incentive ops, payroll, billing or revenue ops, finance ops, or similar reconciliation-heavy work).
- Experience owning a high-volume request queue or ticket intake with internal customers and response-time expectations.
- Regular use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, or similar) as part of day-to-day work: analysis, formulas, lookups, drafting.
- Hands-on experience with large, formula-heavy spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel) and debugging others' models.
- Experience reconciling data between a CRM or system of record (Salesforce, NetSuite, HubSpot, or similar) and downstream reports, explaining gaps.
- Remote work experience with teams in different time zones, communicating primarily in writing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Direct experience administering sales commissions or variable pay plans.
- Building simple AI workflows or automations (custom GPT, Claude Project, Apps Script, or Zapier flow) that reduced repetitive tasks.
- SQL (or AI-assisted SQL) against a data warehouse.
- Writing or rewriting SOPs that others now follow.
