n8n is seeking a founding Sales Compensation Manager to build and own the sales compensation function from the ground up across all revenue teams (SMB, Mid-Market, Enterprise, Customer Success, Solutions Engineering, SDRs, and Partnerships) spanning EMEA and AMER regions.
You will design, implement, and maintain variable compensation plans for quota-carrying representatives and overlay roles, ensuring alignment with go-to-market strategy and financial targets. Key responsibilities include modeling plan costs and payout scenarios, implementing quotas and crediting rules in the commissions platform and Salesforce, and running monthly/quarterly commission calculations with full reconciliation and dispute resolution.
You'll own quota and crediting operations, including complex logic for expansions, amendments, multi-year deals, proration, and FX adjustments. You'll partner with RevOps, Deal Desk, Finance, and Sales leadership to maintain accurate crediting aligned with deal structure. Building reliable reporting on attainment, payouts, and plan effectiveness is critical, with insights surfaced to leadership to drive behavioral alignment.
This role requires 4-8+ years of sales compensation, incentive compensation, RevOps, or sales operations experience in high-growth B2B SaaS. You must have hands-on expertise designing variable compensation plans, including quota-carrying and overlay roles, accelerators, and SPIFFs. Deep SaaS commercial fluency is essential—bookings/ARR, expansions, amendments, multi-year deals, proration, and FX.
You'll be highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, complex formulas, modeling), comfortable in Salesforce and commissions platforms (Qobra, CaptivateIQ, Xactly, Varicent, Everstage), and skilled at stakeholder communication. Experience with SOX/internal controls, BI tools, or automation (SQL, dbt, scripting) is a plus. You'll handle sensitive compensation data with integrity and discretion, serving as the go-to expert on compensation mechanics across the organization.
