Okta is seeking a Sales Compensation Analyst to join the GTM Strategy and Incentive Design team. This role sits at the intersection of Finance and Sales Operations, serving as the backbone of the sales incentive ecosystem.
You will manage the end-to-end monthly and quarterly commission cycle for the global sales force, ensuring accurate and timely payouts. Key responsibilities include identifying bottlenecks in payout workflows and implementing automated solutions to reduce manual errors. You'll act as the primary point of contact for sales inquiries regarding compensation, researching and resolving discrepancies with professionalism and empathy.
Compliance is critical: you'll ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and external regulations related to sales compensation, maintaining rigorous documentation for audit purposes and SOX compliance.
Collaboration is essential. You'll partner closely with Sales Operations, HR, and Accounting teams to ensure seamless process management. You'll identify and implement process improvements, participate in system upgrades and new compensation tool implementations, and provide training and documentation to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings 2–3 years of professional experience in Finance, Sales Operations, or Revenue Operations, with direct experience in Sales Compensation (Incentive Compensation Management) being a significant advantage. You'll need strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel—nested formulas, XLOOKUPs, and Pivot Tables should be second nature. Experience with Sales Performance Management systems (Xactly, Varicent, CallidusCloud) is valued, as is familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to explain complex commission calculations in simple terms are essential. You must handle sensitive pay-related conversations with patience, clarity, and professionalism. Experience in high-growth, international environments and the ability to build dashboards in Excel are additional assets.
