As Safety Manager (System Safety), you will lead the system-safety domain across Helsing's defence platforms. You are responsible for developing and maintaining the System Safety Programme Plan (SSPP) as the authoritative reference for all system-safety activities. Your core responsibilities include coordinating hazard identification, preliminary hazard analysis (PHA), and risk assessment across the system safety lifecycle.
You will define and govern system-level safety architecture, ensuring full traceability of safety requirements to system functions. You'll lead system-wide safety activities that identify, assess, and mitigate weapon-specific safety requirements, integrating every safety demand into the system safety lifecycle. Your work ensures compliance with applicable defence and aerospace regulations.
Day-to-day activities include developing and maintaining the SSPP, coordinating hazard identification and PHA processes, defining safety architecture with full requirements traceability, assessing system safety for newly developed systems, and deriving necessary evidence (e.g., Safety Assessment Reports). You will work cross-functionally to ensure safety requirements are cleanly traced to system functions and that the technology protecting democracies is safe by design and safe in the field.
This role requires deep expertise in system safety engineering, defence standards, and safety-critical systems development. You will be a key technical leader ensuring that Helsing's defence AI systems meet the highest safety and ethical standards.
