Aspire is a Series C fintech building a financial operating system for global founders, trusted by 50,000+ startups. The company combines banking, software, and automation into a single platform, backed by Y Combinator, Peak XV, and Lightspeed.
As Risk Analytics Manager, you will own and operate Aspire's risk management framework, providing analytical insights into financial, operational, and regulatory risks. This is a foundational role in a fast-growing, FCA-regulated fintech where you will help build the risk function from the ground up and ensure Aspire UK and the broader Aspire Group operate within risk appetite as it scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze, quantify, and surface risk exposure across the company
- Collaborate with C-suite, product, and data teams to identify and align on risk priorities
- Develop detailed project plans to address core financial risks, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Manage project execution hands-on, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
- Lead key strategic projects across Aspire with focus on risk management—defining problems, diagnosing challenges, identifying opportunities, and driving implementation
- Set up the reconciliation framework for European markets as a key responsibility, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and control effectiveness
- Communicate project status, risk exposure, and control updates to stakeholders regularly
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams (technology, product, compliance, risk, finance)
- Identify improvement opportunities in risk rating frameworks
- Serve as point of contact for UK and Europe overall risk topics
You will report to the COO and work closely with Data, Risk, Compliance, and operational teams.
Required qualifications: Minimum 5 years of risk management experience in financial services, with direct experience in banking, payments, e-money, or fintech strongly preferred. Strong data management and analytical skills with proficiency in Python, SQL, and relevant data tools. Ability to build a vision and action plan, then execute independently while rallying other leaders. Basic understanding of FCA regulatory expectations for EMIs (SYSC, operational resilience, outsourcing risk). Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred: Fintech experience with exposure to reconciliation processes across European markets, familiarity with finance/treasury/data science models, and risk management and control background.
