Salary: USD 85,000 - 120,000 / annual
CAIS is seeking a Revenue Accounting Senior Associate to join the Corporate Finance team. This is a mid-to-senior individual contributor role with broad visibility across CAIS's revenue operations and close collaboration with Finance, Fund Management, Legal, and Operations.
The role owns end-to-end revenue and accounts receivable processes across multiple subsidiaries and business lines within CAIS, a leading platform democratizing access to alternative investments for independent financial advisors. CAIS supports over 50,000 advisors overseeing more than $6 trillion in network assets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the monthly revenue close process for multiple entities, including revenue accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
- Review customer contracts and evaluate revenue recognition under ASC 606, ensuring compliance across all revenue streams
- Oversee end-to-end customer billing across subsidiaries, covering management fees, placement fees, and platform revenue
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on overdue balances, and resolve discrepancies with clients, fund administrators, and custodians
- Maintain accurate AR and GL records, including transaction posting and account reconciliation
- Utilize and optimize BillingPlatform to streamline invoicing and automate revenue workflows
- Prepare aging reports and monthly AR financial reports; contribute to month-end, year-end close, and audit processes
- Establish, document, and improve internal controls and processes across AR and billing functions
- Partner with Fund Management, Operations, and Sales to ensure fee calculations align with fund agreements and advisor contracts
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; 4-6 years of revenue operations, billing, or AR experience in financial services. CPA strongly preferred. Prior experience at hedge funds, private equity firms, fund administrators, or alternative investment platforms is strongly preferred. Candidates should be detail-oriented, self-starters who thrive in fast-paced environments, with exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience with NetSuite, BillingPlatform, or similar revenue automation tools is preferred. Demonstrated AI fluency and comfort using AI-assisted tools in day-to-day work is required.
