Key responsibilities include: **Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting**: Own ASC 606 compliance across all contract types—usage-based pricing, committed capacity deals, credits, multi-year enterprise contracts, and emerging business models. Serve as the technical authority on revenue treatment for new deal structures and products. **Billing Operations**: Manage end-to-end billing including invoice generation, accuracy verification, and dispute resolution. Identify and automate manual, error-prone steps in the billing-to-cash workflow. Strengthen collections efforts and overall process rigor. **Contract Review & Deal Support**: Build and maintain a standardized contract review process for Sales and Legal. Proactively flag non-standard terms affecting revenue recognition before deals close. Partner with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Legal on deal structuring. **Sales & Indirect Tax**: Own the sales and indirect tax process, including tax automation tool management (nexus tracking, exemption certificates, filings), and build governance as the company scales into new jurisdictions. **Close & Reporting**: Own monthly revenue close (deferred revenue, unbilled AR, credit memos, reserves). Partner with FP&A on billed vs. recognized revenue reconciliation, ARR reporting, and forecasting. Manage revenue-related audit deliverables. Required qualifications: 5+ years progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in revenue accounting/recognition. Deep ASC 606 knowledge including variable consideration, multiple performance obligations, and usage-based models. Hands-on contract review and billing operations experience. Public company or audit-ready private company background (Big 4 or industry). Builder mentality, comfortable on lean teams. NetSuite and modern billing platform experience. Based in San Francisco or New York with ability to work in-person 3+ days/week. Bonus: High-growth venture-backed infrastructure/cloud company experience, committed-use contracts, tax tool oversight across jurisdictions, CPA, SOX controls exposure.
