Everlane is seeking a Retention Marketing Specialist to build and optimize email and SMS programs that drive customer loyalty and repeat purchases. This is a hands-on role reporting to the Retention Marketing Manager, focused on campaign execution, testing, and optimization within a mission-driven e-commerce company committed to ethical manufacturing and sustainable materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include building, testing, and deploying campaigns across email and SMS channels; partnering with the Retention Marketing Manager to develop and test new segmentation strategies; building out and optimizing lifecycle flows (welcome, abandon, post-purchase, replenishment, winback, VIP, churn-risk); supporting list hygiene, deliverability, and compliance; and preparing reporting to inform strategy. The role requires fluidity between execution and analysis, with the ability to adapt quickly as business priorities shift. You'll work cross-functionally across the business to translate customer insights into action and bring campaigns to life. The position is based in Everlane's Los Angeles Creative Studio in the Arts District on a hybrid schedule with at least three days in office per week (Tuesdays through Thursdays). Required qualifications include 2-3 years of experience in email/SMS or lifecycle marketing, ideally in online retail or e-commerce; hands-on experience with an ESP platform (Klaviyo, Attentive, Emarsys, or similar); strong working knowledge of HTML for email building; a test-and-learn mentality with genuine curiosity about customer behavior; strong attention to detail and QA-first approach; comfort working with data for segmentation and testing decisions; and collaborative spirit across teams. The role offers the opportunity to stay current on lifecycle marketing trends and bring fresh ideas and best practices to a growing team.
