Salary: USD 76,500 - 90,000 / annual
Oura is seeking a Research Coordinator to join the Research Operations team in San Francisco, supporting hardware-focused human subjects research studies. The role involves executing day-to-day operations for up to 3 parallel research studies focused on novel device and sensor form factors for next-generation wearable technology.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting human subjects research studies from initiation through data collection and quality review
- Executing study operations including participant scheduling, room and equipment setup, and data capture from prototype devices
- Gaining expertise in emerging data collection capabilities and early-stage sensor concepts
- Collaborating with Research Project Managers, Algorithm Scientists, and Research Scientists to maintain study rigor and documentation
- Troubleshooting technical and research challenges during live sessions
- Occasional domestic travel for site visits and cross-office collaboration
Required qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in human subjects research (academic, commercial, or clinical settings)
- Experience with participant screening, scheduling, IRB approval/consent processes, data monitoring, and study documentation
- Familiarity with physiological data, wearable technology, multimodal sensor data, or medical devices
- Strong attention to detail and track record of high-quality, well-documented data collection
- Foundational understanding of human subjects research ethics, Good Clinical Practice, and participant/product privacy protection
- Based in San Francisco with availability for 3+ days per week onsite
- Willingness to travel occasionally for study-related activities
Nice-to-have skills include experience with early-stage hardware prototypes and process automation/tool development. The role is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days per week in the San Francisco office.
