Salary: USD 120,000 - 130,000 / annual
8Fleet is a rapidly growing LA-based technology and logistics startup building operational infrastructure for autonomous and non-autonomous rideshare fleets. The Market Manager will lead all operations for 8Fleet's Chicago market expansion, owning end-to-end operational management, strategic planning, financial performance, and team leadership.
Key responsibilities include fleet growth and management (driver scheduling, dispatch, vehicle maintenance, driver recruitment and retention), financial performance (analyzing fleet metrics, optimizing profitability, monitoring KPIs), driver support and training (ongoing coaching on safety and best practices), and compliance and safety (regulatory adherence, safety audits).
The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of operations management or business consulting experience with proven team-building and process optimization skills. You'll need 2+ years of people management experience with high emotional intelligence and a track record of delivering results through others. This is a hands-on role requiring entrepreneurial hustle, a data-driven mindset, strong business judgment, and excellent communication skills. You should be comfortable with fast-paced decision-making, willing to lead by example, and capable of managing both in-person and remote teams. A BA/BS is required; MBA or advanced degree is preferred. Experience with ridesharing platforms (Uber, Lyft) is a strong plus.
This role is critical to navigating and growing the business in a new market, requiring someone who can think strategically at a high level while diving deep into operational details to ensure execution excellence.
