Revolut is seeking a Regulatory Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor for AI product initiatives. You will ensure that customer-facing AI tools—including automated support assistants, smart routing, and generative AI features—are built on robust regulatory foundations and comply with applicable financial services and AI regulations. Key responsibilities include: - Providing regulatory advice on AI product deployment, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory expectations - Translating financial regulations into practical, scalable product guardrails that engineering and product teams can implement - Partnering directly with Product Owners, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to design legally sound automated customer journeys, chat assistants, and support workflows - Structuring regulatory governance frameworks for AI decision-making, automated resolution pathways, and vulnerable customer protection mechanisms - Liaising with specialist external counsel, distilling complex advice for senior management and non-legal stakeholders - Balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution of significant and complex legal matters under tight timelines The Legal team at Revolut partners across the organization to provide practical advice that enables rapid growth while maintaining compliance and protection. This role sits at the intersection of product development and regulatory strategy, requiring both deep legal expertise and the ability to communicate with technical teams. Requirements: - 5+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in financial services regulation and product counselling - Excellent academic credentials and law firm background - Sound judgment, composure under pressure, and collaborative mindset - Ability to make decisions confidently in ambiguous situations with incomplete information - Solid knowledge of AI legal principles, including the EU AI Act, automated decision-making compliance, and data governance - Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills Nice to have: - Experience conducting AI impact assessments within a regulated financial institution
