Anthropic is seeking a Regional Safety & Security Manager for the Americas to serve as the operational owner of safety and security execution across all Anthropic locations in the region. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of the region's safety and security posture, people, and budget, with accountability for outcomes at every site.
Key responsibilities include: end-to-end safety and security operations for all Americas sites, protecting employees, visitors, assets, and AI research while maintaining compliance; leading the region's safety and security team including campus security managers, systems integration teams, EH&S staff, and contracted guard forces; serving as regional incident commander for critical incidents and emergencies; implementing and localizing global standards set by corporate function leaders; owning the regional safety and security budget and vendor portfolio; collaborating on security risk assessments and design for new sites; building partnerships with law enforcement and emergency services; and championing a safety culture that enables fast-moving research operations.
Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of progressive safety and/or security leadership with multi-site or regional responsibility and direct people leadership. Experience managing teams of 50+ and operating budgets exceeding $10M is expected. Candidates should have served as incident commanders for complex incidents, delivered security scope for major facility projects, built partnerships with government agencies, and can communicate credibly across executive and front-line levels. Willingness to travel regularly across Americas sites and support 24/7 on-call posture is required.
Strong candidates may have public-safety, law-enforcement, or military command backgrounds successfully transitioned to corporate security; experience managing 100+ person teams and $25M+ budgets across multiple disciplines; direct delivery of capital security/facility projects; critical-incident and workplace-violence-prevention program experience; relevant certifications (CPP, PSP, ICS/FEMA); bachelor's degree (master's preferred); and experience in high-profile technology, research, or regulated environments.
