Serve Robotics is building autonomous sidewalk robots for last-mile delivery in urban environments. The company operates fleets across Los Angeles, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and Chicago, with expansion underway.
As Regional Operations & Fleet Expansion Manager, you will lead field operations and market expansion for a geographic region, reporting to the Director of Operations. This is a hands-on leadership role combining operational execution with team management and strategic growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Direct leadership of operations and fleet personnel, managing hiring, coaching, performance, and career development
- Oversight of daily autonomous robot operations, fleet performance metrics (uptime, MTTR, SLA attainment), and operational throughput
- Management of field teams, remote operators, depots, and operational workflows
- End-to-end launch planning and execution for new markets, including depot setup, vendor onboarding, regulatory compliance, and launch readiness
- Fleet maintenance oversight, repair quality assurance, inventory management, and facility readiness
- Cross-functional partnership with Engineering, Product, Fleet Management, Policy, Mapping, Business Development, Hardware, Finance, and Supply Chain
- Continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer experience
- Regulatory compliance and safety standards implementation across operating regions
- Identification and resolution of operational risks and cross-functional blockers
Required: 5+ years in operations, logistics, robotics, autonomous systems, or related technical operations; 2+ years direct people leadership; demonstrated hiring and coaching experience; operational KPI and SLA management; cross-functional project management; familiarity with CMMS and operational dashboards; valid driver's license; willingness to travel.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Operations Management; experience launching new operational markets; vendor management; robotics or autonomous systems background; regulatory compliance exposure; international operations experience; advanced analytical and reporting skills; multilingual abilities.
The role requires regular work in office, depot, laboratory, and field environments, with ability to lift 50 pounds and extended periods of standing, walking, and working with robots and tools.
