Zen Educate is a fast-growing UK edtech company building a digital platform that helps schools find, vet, and manage temporary educators. Schools currently spend over £2bn annually on agency staff; Zen provides an all-in-one solution giving school leaders real-time search, booking, and management capabilities with full visibility and compliance control. You will join the commercial leadership team as Regional Director for the South West (Exeter/Truro), taking over a high-performing team from a successful leader progressing within the company. This is a full-time, office-based role. In your first 6–12 months, you will: become an expert in customer pain points and how the platform solves them; establish the biggest growth opportunity within each team and develop a plan to pursue it; develop playbooks and operating procedures ensuring both excellent customer experience and operational efficiency; and coach both managers and individual contributors to excel. You will work with a 500+ person team across the UK, US, and Canada. The company is well-funded, growing rapidly, and has strong unit economics. The culture emphasizes "we care more"—improving staffing in schools to deliver positive impact on educators and pupils. The role requires someone who sets a high bar for teams, is skilled at coaching managers and ICs, and is equally obsessed with building systems and hitting growth targets. You should be comfortable aligning strategy and process with central functions while rolling out initiatives regionally. Success correlates with: passion for real-world education impact; thinking big and transformatively (not incrementally); being process-led and hyper-structured with meticulous planning; ability to align teams; finding simple answers to complex problems; and out-maneuvering competition. The company values slope and passion over initial starting point, building systems rather than individual heroics, and first-principles reasoning over replicating best practices. Leaders who succeed are endlessly curious, deconstruct problems, experiment, and double down on what works. REQUIREMENTS: No explicit years of experience, certifications, or educational requirements stated in the posting. However, the role implicitly requires: proven track record as a leader managing teams; demonstrated ability to coach and develop managers and individual contributors; experience building systems, playbooks, and operating procedures; commercial acumen and growth-target focus; strategic alignment skills; and passion for education or mission-driven work.
