Xero's Strategy & Operations team is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategy & Operations to lead the company's internal AI transformation and deliver high-impact strategic programs. This is an individual contributor role that sits at the center of how Xero plans and executes.
In this role, you will scope opportunities, build business cases, and drive design and implementation across Xero's most consequential AI initiatives. You'll connect dots between company-wide efforts to create cohesive outcomes, coordinate across technical and non-technical stakeholders, close alignment gaps, and maintain momentum—all while building credibility and influence to get things done without relying on formal authority.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading strategic work streams supporting Xero's internal AI transformation, from scoping through stabilization and adoption
- Translating AI ambitions into clear scope, requirements, and delivery plans with measurable outcomes
- Structuring ambiguous business problems into sharp questions and well-reasoned recommendations for senior audiences
- Building business cases and applying commercial judgment to trade-offs and investment decisions
- Partnering closely with leaders across the business to structure problems into clear recommendations, then staying close to delivery to ensure recommendations land
The Strategy & Operations team is small and tight-knit, working collaboratively across functions. You'll work in a hybrid model combining in-office collaboration with flexibility to work from home, with boost days bringing the team together for connection and collaborative work.
Requirements:
- Experience at a top-tier consulting firm highly preferred, or comparable experience in strategy, operations, transformation, and/or related roles within a global technology or SaaS environment
- Demonstrated leadership of complex, multi-stakeholder programs end-to-end, from problem definition through delivery
- Structured, rigorous thinking with ability to frame ambiguous problems into credible analyses and clear recommendations
- Background in operating model and technology transformation, with experience and/or aptitude in AI strategy or AI-enabled ways of working
- AI builder mindset for reimagining workflows, actively building your own AI fluency, and rapidly experimenting
- Strong financial and commercial acumen to build and interrogate business cases
- Polished and precise written and verbal communication, with deliverables that rarely need heavy editing
- Enjoyment of developing others through mentoring, candid feedback, and building team capability
