OpenAI is seeking an experienced Recruiter specializing in General & Administrative (G&A) functions to join its mission-driven Recruiting team. Reporting to the Global Head of Business Recruiting, you will own full-cycle recruitment for G&A roles across the organization, partnering with hiring managers and global recruitment colleagues to build robust teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for G&A positions, from role definition through offer acceptance and negotiation
- Work directly with business leaders to understand departmental objectives and develop proactive hiring strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Deliver an outstanding candidate experience while upholding OpenAI's commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Collaborate with HR, Legal, and Compensation teams to ensure compliance and operational excellence throughout the recruitment lifecycle
- Employ advanced sourcing strategies and tools to attract top-tier candidates, with emphasis on diversity
- Advise hiring managers on best practices in interviewing, candidate evaluation, and employment branding
OpenAI's Recruiting team is relationship-first and mission-driven, focused on connecting exceptional talent to high-impact work in AI safety and deployment. The role offers the opportunity to shape hiring practices at a leading AI research and deployment company.
Workplace: Hybrid schedule with three days per week in the San Francisco or New York City office (with option to work remotely Thursdays and Fridays). Remote work within the U.S. is also considered, with occasional visits to HQ expected. Relocation support is available for in-person candidates.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in-house at high-growth companies
- Strong track record hiring for G&A roles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across cultures
- High adaptability in fast-paced, evolving environments; ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution
- Continuous improvement mindset and ability to evolve processes for global hiring needs
- Proficiency with ATS and sourcing platforms (Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other modern recruitment tools)
