The company operates at the intersection of human expertise and frontier AI models, with millions of domain experts on the platform contributing to AI training. Mercor is a profitable Series C company valued at $10 billion, with offices in San Francisco, NYC, and London.
Deeptune is an RL environments lab within Mercor that builds training gyms for AI agents—high-fidelity simulations where AI learns to perform real-world tasks through reinforcement learning. The lab partners with leading AI companies to train next-generation agentic models.
As a Recruiter reporting to Deeptune's Head of Talent, you will own full-cycle hiring (sourcing through close) for critical roles across multiple organizations, with particular focus on Deeptune. You'll work five days a week in-person at Mercor's Financial District office in NYC.
Key responsibilities include: managing end-to-end recruiting for a variety of functions (marketing, finance, people ops, with emphasis on operations); partnering with General Managers to map needs and implement process improvements; building top-of-funnel through creative outbound, talent intelligence, and Mercor's proprietary tools (structured screens, automated work samples, calibrated rubrics); coaching hiring managers on structured interviewing and decision hygiene; operationalizing hiring systems and tracking key metrics (pass-through rates, time-in-stage, source yield); driving speed and quality with SLAs for same-day debriefs and fast offers; building brand through campaigns, referrals, and events; representing Deeptune and Mercor externally to competitive talent markets; and collaborating on dashboards and process automation within Ashby and other recruiting systems.
You should have experience with full-cycle recruiting across individual contributor and leadership roles, proven ability to build and scale hiring systems with data-driven decision-making, high motor and outcome-oriented approach, strong communication skills, familiarity with GTM, Strategy, and Operations roles (ideally with some technical recruiting expertise in SWE or FDE roles), and confidence representing the brand to top candidates. Nice-to-haves include founding recruiter experience, interest in human data/AGI space, and technical recruiting expertise.
Ideal qualities: agility and adaptability to move fast and pivot with business shifts; operational rigor to bring order to unstructured environments; growth mindset to learn in a rapidly evolving frontier industry; commitment to outcomes with high accountability; and genuine love for building best-in-class talent acquisition motions.
