Virta Health is seeking an RCM Direct Billing Specialist to support billing and accounts receivable operations for direct-billed employer clients. The role sits at the intersection of Revenue Cycle Management, Finance, Product, and Client Success, focusing on ensuring accurate invoicing, timely payment processing, and prompt resolution of billing inquiries.
Key responsibilities include leading day-to-day accounts receivable activities such as cash application, account review, and payment matching for direct-billed employer clients. You will monitor AR aging, investigate discrepancies, support collections, and escalate complex issues appropriately. The role requires researching and responding to billing inquiries related to invoice amounts, billing periods, member counts, credits, and payment application.
You will partner cross-functionally to resolve billing issues and ensure client-facing information is accurate. This includes supporting reconciliation between Zuora, NetSuite, Athena, and related reporting systems by identifying and resolving mismatches. You'll review non-standard billing requests, gather relevant information, document client-specific requirements, and coordinate with internal teams.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of billing inquiries, adjustments, collections activity, and issue resolution; preparing recurring AR aging and billing reports; communicating notable trends and risks to RCM leadership; following established billing controls and write-off approval requirements; and recommending improvements to billing workflows and SOPs.
Within 90 days, you should develop working knowledge of Virta's direct billing model, client population, and core systems; begin independently processing payments and resolving routine issues; build relationships with key partners; learn invoice creation and common billing research; assume responsibility for assigned accounts; contribute to documentation; and identify at least one practical improvement opportunity.
