The Quality Manager will lead the evolution and management of an AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System for the New Kensington manufacturing site. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for establishing, monitoring, and improving the QMS to meet OEM expectations, support customer compliance, and ensure long-term customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead continued development and alignment of AS9100 and ISO 9001 systems, documentation, and practices with customer and OEM-specific requirements
- Own and manage the complete quality management system, from supplier quality through final inspection, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and compliance requirements
- Lead preparation, submission, and completion of quality documentation in coordination with customers, engineering, and manufacturing teams
- Lead a Production Quality Team including Quality Engineers, Quality Specialists, Calibration and Test Technicians, and inspectors
- Hire, train, and mentor team members on AS9100/ISO 9001 requirements and core quality tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
- Manage the audit program and serve as primary liaison for customer quality audits, third-party assessments, and internal audits
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure product and process support for launch readiness and program quality planning
- Lead problem-solving using structured methodologies (A3, 5-Why, Fishbone) and drive continuous improvement
- Maintain safe working environment and promote 5S and Lean practices
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, business, or similar field; minimum 5 years' experience leading/coaching Lean methodologies including kaizen events and value stream mapping. Strongly preferred: Lean or Six Sigma certification, experience in core engineering environments, understanding of Toyota Production System, and Six Sigma experience in data analysis, process control, FMEA, and control charts.
