Huckleberry is a health and wellness platform trusted by over 5 million families. The company combines pediatric expertise with data science, AI, and behavioral science to support parents through their parenting journey. You will lead and grow a globally distributed QA team of 12 engineers across manual and automated testing. This is a hands-on management role with significant strategic responsibility for quality across the product. Key responsibilities include: **Team Leadership & Development** Lead a globally distributed team of 12 QA engineers. Partner with an outsourcing partner to scale QA capacity, setting quality standards for partner engineers and building a blended team. Execute a hiring strategy aligned with team and company goals. Establish team performance processes, standards, and documentation. Develop team members through regular one-on-ones, feedback, coaching, and performance management. **Release Ownership & Quality Risk** Own go/no-go decisions on release readiness and be accountable for them. Identify and surface quality risks early in the release cycle so engineering leadership can make informed decisions. Negotiate release trade-offs with product and engineering stakeholders, balancing release dates with user experience. Drive down post-release defect and hotfix rates by monitoring production quality, leading incident response, and closing the loop on root causes. **Quality Reporting and Strategic Guidance** Provide visibility to C-level on quality coverage, developing and executing plans for efficient and effective test coverage. Work with leadership to establish quality KPIs and drive progress toward goals. **Process Improvement** Champion and implement shift-left quality practices with real-world outcomes. Establish quality best practices across the QA team and communicate them to engineering partners. Continuously iterate on QA processes, tools, and automation opportunities. Document testing standards, maintain test case libraries, and ensure clear communication of quality processes. The role is fully remote but hiring is currently limited to CA, DE, GA, IL, MA, MI, NV, NY, OR, TX, WY, and VA. **Requirements:** - 6+ years of total QA experience - 3+ years of QA management experience, including management of globally distributed teams - Excellent people management skills with demonstrated ability to develop team members, manage performance, and build high-performing culture - Solution-oriented leader able to manage quality incidents with composure, focusing on root causes and scalable solutions - Strong communicator able to articulate quality status, risks, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders - Mobile QA subject matter expert across manual and automated QA—regression testing, test coverage, and device/OS matrix strategy - Demonstrated ownership of release readiness decisions with track record of reducing post-release defects or hotfix frequency - AI-native QA practice—daily use of AI in your own workflow and shipped production QA processes that depend on it (not pilots) - Experience designing and implementing new QA approaches in an organization (e.g., shift left) **Nice to have:** - Consumer subscription mobile app experience at scale
