Payoneer is seeking a QA Lead to own quality strategy and execution for a global fintech platform serving over 190 countries. This hybrid, hands-on leadership role balances strategic quality ownership (50%) with technical depth (50%).
You will own go/no-go decisions for production releases, assessing quality readiness, test execution status, and risk posture under pressure. You'll lead end-to-end quality strategy for large, multi-team features—from design review through production validation—defining test scope, coverage models, risk areas, quality KPIs, and rollout strategies. You'll influence product design and system architecture from a testability perspective.
Hands-on technical work includes executing E2E, regression, exploratory, and API testing across web applications, microservices, and event-driven architectures. You'll use SQL for defect investigation, data validation, and production analysis, and debug complex microservice interactions in a fintech environment. You'll review and approve developer-written test plans, audit AI-generated test coverage, and correct gaps in business logic or fintech-specific risks.
A key differentiator is daily AI-assisted workflow building: you'll use AI to accelerate test design, scenario generation, defect triage, and regression scoping, establishing sound judgment on when AI-generated coverage is sufficient versus requiring human review. You'll mentor QA engineers and developers on testing strategy, automation, and quality best practices, standardizing QA methodologies across teams.
Post-production responsibilities include owning quality validation after features go live, monitoring for regressions, and understanding how product variations, regional regulations, and local infrastructure affect quality. You'll plan testing for India-specific compliance requirements (RBI, GST, FEMA).
Required: 5+ years QA/Quality Engineering experience with meaningful time as QA Lead, Senior QA Engineer, or Test Manager. Core competencies include hands-on E2E, regression, exploratory, and API testing; strong SQL skills; production release experience; proficiency with Postman, Swagger, test management systems; solid Agile/CI/CD knowledge; and post-production monitoring expertise. Daily AI tool usage and AI-assisted workflow building experience are essential. Clear English communication, business acumen, and cross-team collaboration are critical.
Nice-to-have: automation framework experience (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright), cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS, GCP, Azure), MongoDB and message queue experience, and fintech/payments/regulated environment background.
