Pulley is an AI-powered permitting intelligence platform that helps architects, builders, and retailers accelerate commercial projects across the US. The company addresses a critical pain point: permitting is the slowest and most uncertain phase of construction, fragmented across 19,000+ jurisdictions with varying rules and timelines. Pulley's platform combines deep permitting expertise with AI to reduce approval timelines, improve forecasting, and eliminate thousands of hours of manual work.
As a Project Manager in Permitting, you will be the critical link between Pulley's clients and the complex permitting landscape. You'll manage multiple permitting projects simultaneously, ensuring they progress smoothly through regulatory hurdles and municipal approvals. Your responsibilities include developing deep expertise in local permitting rules across various markets, acting as a trusted advisor to clients navigating approval processes, building and maintaining relationships with municipal staff to accelerate timelines, and collaborating with internal product, engineering, and leadership teams to continuously improve Pulley's platform and service delivery.
You'll oversee project milestones, anticipate and resolve permitting roadblocks, and contribute to refining best practices and workflows that push the industry forward. This role requires 6+ years of professional experience in architecture, construction, or permitting, with demonstrated involvement in various permitting processes. You should have strong familiarity with local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting procedures. Excellent communication skills and talent for building relationships with both clients and municipal officials are essential. Technical proficiency with relevant software tools and adaptability in learning new systems are required.
