Salary: USD 60,000 - 85,000 / annual
Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup specializing in synthetic air combat training for defense applications. The company is seeking a Program Planner to join the Program Management Office (PMO) and support the planning, scheduling, and execution of advanced defense programs.
In this role, you will work alongside Program Managers, engineers, and functional leads to develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), support Earned Value Management System (EVMS) activities, and ensure program execution aligns with cost, schedule, and technical objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, maintaining, and analyzing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) supporting engineering development and production activities
- Coordinating schedule updates across engineering, systems, software, testing, manufacturing, and program management organizations
- Ensuring schedule logic, dependencies, milestones, and progress accurately reflect program execution
- Supporting implementation of EVMS processes and maintaining schedule data for program performance measurement
- Assisting in developing and maintaining Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) in accordance with MIL-STD-881
- Supporting schedule integration with Control Accounts, organizational planning, and program baselines
- Performing schedule risk assessments, critical path analysis, and "what-if" planning to identify execution risks and opportunities
- Preparing schedule metrics and program performance information for internal leadership, customer reviews, and IPMDAR deliverables
- Maintaining schedule configuration control and documentation supporting baseline change management
- Supporting compliance with company quality procedures, customer requirements, and applicable DoD program management standards
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent experience (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience supporting program planning, project controls, scheduling, or program management
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software
- Understanding of Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS) principles
- Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles
- Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into executable program schedules
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- U.S. Citizenship required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting DoD acquisition or defense contracts
- Familiarity with DI-MGMT-81861 IPMDAR requirements
- Familiarity with ANSI/EIA-748-C Earned Value Management System Guidelines
- Experience supporting ANSI/EIA-748 compliant EVMS implementations
- Familiarity with Control Accounts, Organizational Breakdown Structures (OBS), and Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs)
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar engineering collaboration tools
- Familiarity with DCMA 14-Point Schedule Assessment metrics
- Understanding of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development in accordance with MIL-STD-881
