Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion, seeks a Program Manager for Safety and Standards to join the Test and Evaluation (T&E) team. This role is critical to establishing and overseeing safety, training, and standards practices across on-site and multiple test facilities, with a focus on unmanned aerial systems (UAS) operations.
You will serve as the subject matter expert for DCMA 8210-1D compliance and contract requirements, ensuring adherence to federal, DoD, and company safety standards. Key responsibilities include developing and managing the Safety Management System (SMS) and operational standards programs, maintaining SOPs and checklists, and establishing standardized procedures for test and flight activities.
You will lead internal readiness reviews and DCMA audits, serve as the Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) for flight operations, and act as liaison to government representatives (GFR/GGR), DCMA Contract Safety Representatives, the FAA, and local airfields. You'll monitor and implement changes to Flight and Ground Operations Procedures, ensure timely stakeholder communications, and lead Safety Councils to drive continuous improvement.
Incident management is a core function: you will conduct safety investigations into ground and flight test incidents, track statistical data for trend analysis, maintain the Mishap Response Plan, and provide corrective action recommendations to leadership.
Required qualifications include demonstrated expertise in DCMA 8210-series requirements, SMS and aviation quality programs, FAA and DoD regulations, and experience in aviation flight instruction, flight standardization, or flight safety. You must have developmental testing experience, strong stakeholder collaboration skills, knowledge of aviation policy creation, familiarity with US Military and FAA safety investigation processes, and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Travel as needed is expected.
Preferred qualifications include prior GFR/GGR experience, school-trained ASO certification, military aviation background, UAS operator or technician experience, airspace control knowledge, and formal safety training from FAA or military sources.
