Skydio is the leading US autonomous drone company, serving defense, public safety, and enterprise customers. This Program Manager role owns commercial deployments end-to-end: planning, rollout, operational handoff, and post-launch stabilization for customers running global logistics and site security operations.
You will manage complex, multi-phase deployments combining hardware, software, and operational process change. Key responsibilities include:
- Own planning and execution for commercial deployments from pilot through scaled rollout, including dock-based remote operations programs
- Manage scope, schedule, dependencies, and risk across hardware, software, and operational workstreams; flag technical, regulatory, and logistical problems early with mitigation plans
- Partner with customers to build operational foundations: Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Management System inputs, operational controls, and maintenance/support plans
- Run handoff to steady-state operations and confirm customer readiness before stepping back
- Translate customer operational requirements into clear internal deliverables
- Coordinate across Mission Success, Support, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams
- Manage customer expectations against Skydio's actual capabilities, including honest scope conversations
- Support commercial expansion through early deployments and new use-case groundwork
Required: 5+ years in customer-facing program or professional services roles delivering complex technical programs. Track record running multi-phase implementations combining hardware, software, and operational change. Strong project management fundamentals (planning, dependency tracking, risk management, execution tracking). Experience standing up new technology at customer sites with workflow design, documentation, and training. Clear writing and speaking for both customer operations meetings and internal engineering reviews. Ability to diagnose and resolve execution problems independently.
Nice-to-have: hands-on sUAS/robotics/aviation experience, FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (can be earned post-hire), dock-based or remote/BVLOS operations familiarity, global logistics or site security background, agile product/engineering team experience.
Note: FAA Part 107 certification within first 60 days is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions.
