Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks a Director of Programs to lead its Rocket Motor Systems division. This role is responsible for strategic oversight and execution of a portfolio of advanced solid rocket motor programs serving defense and space applications. Key responsibilities include setting and executing strategic direction across development, test, production, and sustained delivery phases; managing all aspects of program execution including schedule, budget, risk, and P&L accountability; building and leading high-performing cross-functional teams; serving as primary executive interface with customers including senior government officials; overseeing subcontractor performance and procurement; and driving innovation through continuous improvement and lessons learned. The Director will autonomously manage broad and ambiguous requirements from engineering, customers, and corporate partners while ensuring programs meet financial targets and contribute to divisional profitability. The role requires developing lightweight processes and metrics for rapid execution, partnering with Growth teams on capture strategy and competitive positioning, and preparing contractual deliverables and status reports for internal and external stakeholders. Required qualifications include 8+ years of progressive program management or general management experience in complex hardware manufacturing; proven track record taking programs through multiple growth iterations from development through production with cumulative program value in hundreds of millions; P&L ownership at program or division level; ability to lead and scale cross-functional teams; strong executive presence with senior government and military customers; exceptional organizational and decision-making skills in fast-paced environments; and active U.S. Secret security clearance. Preferred qualifications include B.S. or advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical discipline, and experience in propulsion or energetics systems.
