Back to the Roots is seeking a Finished Goods Production & Quality Specialist to join the Operations/Supply Chain team and manage day-to-day execution of seed packet production. This role sits at the intersection of production, quality, inventory, logistics, and replenishment, requiring close collaboration with copackers, suppliers, warehouses, 3PLs, and internal teams.
Key responsibilities include owning operational follow-through of production purchase orders from creation through receipt, maintaining visibility of finished-goods inventory across the network, coordinating production and logistics activities, and identifying supply or service risks before they impact customers. The role carries significant responsibility for e-commerce and Amazon replenishment, including Amazon FBA inventory management and seed packet availability for Amazon bundle production.
Quality assurance is central to this position. You will monitor finished packets against established specifications, investigate quality issues, coordinate corrective actions with production partners, and ensure comprehensive documentation and resolution of issues.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with demonstrated ability to take ownership. You should be comfortable working with data, solving operational problems, communicating with external partners, and driving issues to completion. This is a hands-on role offering measurable impact on production performance, quality, inventory accuracy, customer service, and operating costs as the seed business scales.
Required qualifications: 2-5 years of experience in supply chain, production planning, procurement, logistics, inventory, quality, or related field. Experience working with suppliers, manufacturers, copackers, warehouses, or 3PLs. Experience managing purchase orders, production schedules, inventory, replenishment, or logistics. Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills for operational data analysis. ERP system experience (NetSuite preferred). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external partners. Comfortable identifying problems, investigating root causes, and driving corrective actions. Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with changing priorities. Experience with e-commerce, Amazon, CPG, agriculture, seed, food, or manufacturing is preferred but not required.
