Salary: USD 63,000 - 79,000 / annual

Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems. The Production Planner I role is based onsite at Rocket Lab's Long Beach, CA headquarters and is responsible for work order management across the production organization. You will interact with Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to plan and manage production schedules, lead times, yield management, and engineering build timelines. Your core responsibilities include: - Managing supply and fulfillment planning within MRP for production work orders - Releasing work orders to Production and kit requests to Inventory - Creating visibility of material position through line of balance reports, material shortage reports, and clear-to-build reports - Supporting prioritization and expediting subassemblies to meet integration timelines - Ensuring part master data accuracy within MRP for production parts - Understanding material demand and configuration accuracy - Working cross-functionally as a strong team player to achieve company-wide goals The role requires ensuring the Production team has work in their queue with correct priority and clear blockers removed. You will work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment focused on delivering hardware for meaningful space missions. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4+ years total work experience) - Proven ability to conduct clear build reviews and expedite materials through production - Knowledge of Production Planning fundamentals for master data management, batch processing, and issue ticket disposition - Proficiency in MRP systems - Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, math, and statistics NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS: - Prior experience in aerospace, EV automotive, or other disruptive manufacturing industries - Prior experience in rapid growth environments - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings - Experience with AS9100 and US export controls - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills - Excellent verbal and written communication abilities - Experience with SQL, Python, or R Note: This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas. ITAR compliance required: must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from US Department of State/Commerce.
