IonQ is seeking a Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations for its quantum computing systems at the Bothell, Washington facility. You will manage a team of skilled technicians assembling complex electromechanical, optomechanical, and ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems for quantum computers. This is a hands-on operational leadership role bridging cutting-edge quantum engineering with scalable manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead and grow a team of opto-mechanical and electrical manufacturing technicians, designing and maintaining advanced training programs to accelerate technical development and optical alignment capacity.
• Coach Production Support Engineers to rapidly resolve non-conformances and provide real-time build support during new product introduction (NPI) and production runs.
• Own production execution and customer deliveries, continuously optimizing build plans and dynamically adjusting schedules and labor allocation in response to manufacturing changes.
• Partner with Supply Chain Management to align on component lead times, critical-path bottlenecks, and material readiness, mitigating supply chain delays and shortages.
• Optimize manufacturing floor layout and point-of-use inventory strategies in partnership with Inventory and Logistics to maximize throughput and minimize waste.
• Design and implement advanced training programs for technicians focused on improving quality and developing optical alignment capacity in partnership with Manufacturing and Test Engineering.
• Participate in NPI programs as the Production representative.
