Slip Robotics is a B2B robotics-as-a-service company deploying autonomous loading and unloading robots at warehouse and fulfillment sites across North America. The Production Manager will own the assembly floor and drive the transition from a small, knowledge-dependent operation to a scaled, repeatable manufacturing process.
Key responsibilities include owning the daily and weekly production schedule, managing assembly technicians, tracking critical metrics (units built, on-time completion, first-pass yield, labor hours per unit), and ensuring quality and safety standards. You will spend significant time on the floor, not in an office, partnering closely with Industrial and Manufacturing Engineers on process design and with Supply Chain and Quality teams.
You will lead a team of assembly technicians, own hiring and onboarding as the floor scales, certify technicians against documented work instructions, and maintain safety protocols including PPE enforcement and incident investigation. You will also drive quality ownership through in-process and end-of-line testing, root cause analysis on defects, and support new product introduction with pilot builds and design feedback.
The role requires 5+ years in production or assembly operations with 2+ years directly managing hourly technicians. You must have hands-on experience running mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly lines, demonstrated ownership of production schedules and metrics, and experience creating shift structures and training programs. Working knowledge of ERP/MES systems (NetSuite or similar), ability to read mechanical drawings and bills of material, and a safety-first mindset are essential. You should be comfortable in a startup environment, able to build processes while running them, and physically capable of working on a production floor (lifting up to 50 lbs, extended standing).
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience in robotics or industrial automation, Lean/Six Sigma training, high-voltage battery or drivetrain assembly background, experience scaling lines from prototype to production, machine shop familiarity, a degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, and bilingual English/Spanish capability.
