Etched is building custom silicon and systems optimized for AI inference workloads. As Product Finance Lead, you will own the complete financial strategy connecting product cost, manufacturing, supply, pricing, and margin. This is a high-ownership role requiring deep financial modeling and cross-functional collaboration.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining financial models that connect semiconductor costs, manufacturing yields, supply commitments, customer demand, pricing, and gross margin. You will drive pricing and monetization strategy in partnership with Product and go-to-market teams, evaluating customer economics and commercial structures. You will own the financial lens on the product roadmap, building business cases for new products and major investments including opportunity sizing, cost structure, expected margins, and returns.
You will partner deeply with manufacturing and supply chain teams to model wafer, packaging, component, inventory, and purchase commitments across quarterly and multi-year forecasts. You will develop performance measures for major cost drivers including yields, manufacturing volumes, supplier economics, and new product ramps, identifying margin improvement opportunities.
You will translate AI infrastructure economics into financial decisions by understanding how performance, power, system architecture, and total cost of ownership translate into customer value and pricing opportunities. You will evaluate competing product, manufacturing, and commercial investments, making clear recommendations about capital deployment. You will analyze inventory levels, purchase commitments, and demand scenarios to balance growth, customer commitments, and working capital.
You will establish dashboards, forecasting processes, and metrics that give leadership clear visibility into product costs, supply, pricing, margins, inventory, and performance. You will automate and redesign financial models and workflows as Etched scales from product development into complex manufacturing and commercial operations. You will turn complex data into concise, opinionated recommendations for leadership and partner with Finance on forecasting, planning, and company-wide financial strategy.
Ideal candidates have significant experience in finance, strategy, or analytically rigorous roles with demonstrated ownership of complex financial or operational decisions. You should have exceptional financial modeling skills, experience with product cost, manufacturing, inventory, supply planning, or hardware unit economics. You can take ambiguous questions, structure analysis, develop a point of view, and independently drive decisions. Strong analytical skills, comfort with large datasets, and the judgment to make recommendations with imperfect information are essential. Cross-functional instincts and excellent communication—particularly translating complicated financial and technical concepts for executives—are critical. Advanced Excel or Google Sheets proficiency required.
Experience in semiconductors, AI infrastructure, data center hardware, semiconductor manufacturing economics, pricing and monetization for hardware products, customer total cost of ownership analysis, and financial systems/dashboards is highly valued.
