Back to the Roots, America's #1 organic gardening company, is seeking a Production Analyst to own the analytical backbone of soil production operations as the company scales its manufacturing network. This role sits at the intersection of demand planning, production scheduling, and inventory management across multiple contract manufacturing sites. You will build and maintain the master production schedule, translating demand signals from sales forecasts and retailer commitments into executable production plans. You'll maintain real-time inventory visibility across all soil manufacturing and distribution locations using NetSuite, catching discrepancies before they impact accounting or fulfillment. You'll identify and flag supply risks—material shortages, capacity constraints, lead time gaps—two to three weeks before they become operational fires. Key responsibilities include: managing purchase orders for raw materials and packaging end-to-end; collecting and auditing daily/weekly production reports from manufacturing partners; tracking delivery status, costs, and output; building performance dashboards tracking fill rate, inventory turn, production accuracy, and COGS; and analyzing production data to identify cost savings and network optimization opportunities. You'll work closely with the Soil Procurement & Production team and Director of Operations, serving as the connective tissue between sales, manufacturing, and distribution. This is a fully remote role, though the company offers optional weekly in-person lunches at the Oakland headquarters for Bay Area-based employees. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of production planning, operations analysis, or supply chain coordination experience in manufacturing, CPG, or contract manufacturing environments. You'll need strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, scenario modeling), NetSuite or ERP system experience, and exceptional attention to detail. Experience in lawn & garden, soil, agriculture, or multi-site co-manufacturing is a plus.
