Halter is a fast-growing agritech company transforming pasture-based grazing through virtual fencing technology. Farmers use Halter's collars and app to virtually fence and shift animals, monitor locations and behavior, and optimize grazing operations without traditional infrastructure like quad bikes, dogs, or physical fences.
You will own Halter's product and development projects across New Zealand, serving as a bridge between the product/engineering teams and farmers. This hybrid role is based in either Auckland HQ or the Morrinsville R&D office, with approximately 50% nationwide travel required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working closely with Product and Engineering teams to provide feedback on priorities and ensure development aligns with farmer needs
- Leading cross-functional projects from design through execution
- Sharing deep knowledge of New Zealand farming systems, animal behavior, and virtual fencing technology
- Partnering with Business Development, Account Management, and R&D to maintain alignment between product development and customer needs
- Thinking critically about end-to-end product experience and identifying improvement opportunities
- Working with strategic customers to ensure they maximize Halter product value
- Supporting on-farm product testing, research trials, and virtual fencing implementation
- Traveling nationwide to work directly with farmers, gather insights, and bridge product development with real-world application
- Contributing to other initiatives supporting Halter's growth

Requirements:
- Genuine interest in agritech with strong technical curiosity and willingness to understand product and technology details
- Hands-on farming experience (essential)
- Passion for animals and the future of farming
- Phenomenal attitude with collaborative, team-first approach and ability to overcome challenges
- Experience leading cross-functional projects, conducting research trials, or supporting product development
- Fast learner motivated to work hard, take initiative, and contribute to pioneering work
- Proven ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and develop innovative, practical solutions
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment with high autonomy, resilience, and comfort with ambiguity
- Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively throughout New Zealand (approximately 50% of time), including occasional weekend work and international travel when required
