Salary: USD 110,000 - 166,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Product Sourcing Engineer to join the Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team in Huntsville, Alabama. The RMS team is building next-generation solid rocket motors for military applications, and this role is critical to scaling production and optimizing the supply chain.
In this position, you will drive strategic supply network development and cost management across Anduril's product hardware lifecycles. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to deliver differentiated products and maintain a reputation for quality and reliability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting supplier selection and leveraging the approved supplier list
- Partnering with strategic suppliers on concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should-cost modeling, and joint design development
- Developing and consolidating manufacturing BOMs with Quality and Manufacturing teams to support flexible production ramp-up
- Managing CAPEX throughout new product introduction (NPI)
- Performing value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility
- Completing BOM risk assessments and identifying alternate component sourcing strategies
- Ensuring all component qualifications are completed before production
- Driving cost engineering activities to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle
- Managing ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field, 3+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement, design of electronics/mechanical devices, or procurement engineering, and domain expertise in value engineering or TCO work. You must be willing to travel up to 25% and relocate to Huntsville if not already local. A TS security clearance is preferred.
