Allica Bank is the UK's fastest-growing fintech, focused on serving established SMEs—a major underserved segment representing over a third of the UK economy. This is a full-ownership product role leading one of Allica's most effective growth channels: the accountant ecosystem.
Accountants are often the first port of call for SME financial decisions, and you will transform that relationship into a product experience that drives recommendations, retention, and deeper product adoption. You will define and deliver Allica's proposition for accountants—a product that must feel trustworthy, work flawlessly across client portfolios, and set the standard for how Allica builds propositions for partners around SME customers.
You own the full product lifecycle: setting strategy, shaping the roadmap, leading your squad, and being accountable for commercial outcomes. You will work with deep understanding of accountant operations—day-to-day reconciliation, VAT and payroll processing, cash flow advisory across client portfolios—and bring that expertise to a product that is both ambitious and grounded in real accountant and SME needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end product strategy, vision, roadmap, and execution for the accountants proposition
- Lead a cross-functional squad (Engineering, Design, Data, Operations) to deliver high-quality customer-facing features
- Take full commercial accountability for squad OKRs: accountant-driven customer acquisition, growth, retention, and product depth
- Define and implement the accountant access model, from read-only visibility to richer permissions and controls
- Deliver the accountant-facing product experience: multi-client workflows and tools for monitoring, reconciliation, and advisory across SME portfolios
- Partner with Design, UX, and Research on customer discovery, prototyping, and iterative validation with accountants and SMEs
- Define metrics, track outcomes, and anchor decisions in data; build evidence-based product development culture
- Identify and manage product, regulatory, and delivery risks; work with Compliance and Risk teams
- Maintain clear, well-communicated roadmap with regular updates to leadership and cross-functional teams

Requirements:
- Significant experience as Product Owner or Product Manager in financial services, ideally building products for accountants, bookkeepers, or professional services audiences
- Deep understanding of accountant and bookkeeper day-to-day operations: practice workflows, client management, and common accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Track record taking a product from early MVP to fully-fledged proposition, ideally in banking, fintech, or professional services software
- Strong commercial acumen: comfortable owning OKRs and making data-driven prioritization decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to operate confidently across technical, commercial, and regulatory audiences
- Decisive, with track record of moving quickly while maintaining quality and managing risk
- Experience working in agile squads with Engineers, Designers, Data Analysts, and Operations
