Adelphi Data is hiring a Product Owner to lead delivery planning for a large public sector customer in an AI R&D environment focused on national security. This is a first-of-its-kind role where you'll own all delivery planning artifacts—PRDs, roadmaps, backlogs, and timelines—for a program that currently lacks formal documentation. You'll be forward deployed with the engineering team, working closely with the lead engineer and reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Operations.
Key responsibilities include owning delivery planning across all projects for this customer, writing and maintaining PRDs and roadmaps that both Adelphi and the customer reference, running the agile function by structuring backlogs and maintaining delivery cadence, capturing requirements from weekly mission owner touchpoints, defining and enforcing scope with documentation, building delivery reporting and metrics for customer leadership, and establishing repeatable processes for intake and delivery of new projects.
You'll work on-site three days per week (either at the Adelphi office or customer location), with minimal travel. The role requires 2–5 years as a product owner, scrum master, or technical program manager, with at least three years in public sector delivery. You must be comfortable working without complete specifications, sizing work credibly, running delivery in tools like Jira or Linear, maintaining meticulous documentation, and staying steady amid scope and direction changes. An active U.S. Government Secret-level clearance or above is required.
Bonus experience includes building dashboards and roadmap visualizations, establishing wikis and SOPs, working on AI/LLM programs, being forward deployed with customers, or being the first product person on a program. Adelphi is an AI-native company that has 10x'd in under two years and works with senior leaders at the Department of War and Intelligence Community.
