Benchling is an AI platform for biotech R&D used by over 200,000 scientists globally, including major biopharma companies like Sanofi and Moderna. The company is rebuilding biotech for the AI era by integrating scientific data, AI agents, and connected workflows into how research and development actually happens.
You will shape how Benchling's product is understood, brought to market, and adopted. This role requires partnering closely with Product, Sales, Customer Experience, and Marketing to define go-to-market strategy, positioning, market launches, and translate sophisticated capabilities into clear customer value.
Key responsibilities include developing positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy for major platform areas; leading product launches from early strategy through market introduction, field readiness, adoption, and measurement; owning pricing and packaging decisions including pricing analysis, deal assistance, and field enablement; partnering with Product and Engineering to understand product capabilities and bring customer and market insights into product decisions; building deep understanding of customers, users, buyers, competitors, and the enterprise software and AI landscape; creating product narratives, content, and enablement for customer-facing teams; and working across Sales, Customer Experience, and Marketing to drive adoption, expansion, pipeline, and revenue.
You should have 6+ years of product marketing or related go-to-market experience in B2B enterprise software, with a track record marketing complex technical products such as data platforms, APIs, SDKs, integrations, developer tools, workflows, or AI products. You must have owned positioning, messaging, product launches, and sales enablement from strategy through execution. Strong writing and storytelling skills are essential—you should make complicated ideas clear, specific, and compelling while leveraging AI thoughtfully without overriding human judgment. You need the ability to understand customers and enterprise buying dynamics to communicate value to users, technical stakeholders, business leaders, and executives. Comfort creating structure in ambiguous environments and driving work across multiple teams is critical. Deep curiosity and motivation to learn unfamiliar technical and scientific domains is required.
Nice-to-have qualifications include experience at growth-stage or rapidly scaling enterprise software companies, marketing platforms or products used by technical audiences, driving adoption or expansion within enterprise customers, bringing AI products or capabilities to market, and familiarity with biotechnology, scientific software, or regulated industries.
The role operates on a flexible hybrid arrangement with expectations to be on-site 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday).
