incident.io is a Series B AI-powered incident response platform used by leading engineering teams including OpenAI, Netflix, and Airbnb. The company has raised $96M and is growing rapidly. You'll own positioning and messaging for the AI and Platform product lines, translating technically complex capabilities into narratives that resonate with engineers and procurement decision-makers. This is a hands-on role where you'll deeply understand the product by using it, breaking it, and building credibility with a technical audience. Day-to-day responsibilities include: - Developing positioning, messaging, and naming strategies for AI and platform features - Driving end-to-end product launches from narrative development through enablement and adoption - Conducting customer and prospect research, analyzing Gong calls, competitive mapping, and community engagement to understand market direction - Creating battle cards, objection handling frameworks, and demo narratives for the GTM team - Writing technical content and documentation that holds up under scrutiny from staff engineers - Collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure launches are well-coordinated and supported - Building proof points and case studies that demonstrate AI capabilities authentically You'll need hands-on experience marketing AI products or features, not adjacent work. You should build with AI tools yourself (Claude, Cursor, etc.) and be able to discuss real projects. Technical depth is essential—you can read API docs, explain systems without hand-waving, and have positioned complex products for technical buyers before (dev tools, infrastructure, security, platform). You write clearly and can make complex topics simple without losing accuracy. You're skeptical about AI hype and know what's genuinely new versus rebranded.
