Airbnb is seeking a Product Manager for Social Features to lead a new pod focused on turning guests' connections into reasons to return to the platform. You will own the full lifecycle of social features including travel maps, group travel tools, recommendations from known connections, and integration of social elements across the guest journey. In this role, you will own outcomes end-to-end, not just roadmaps. You'll make scope and priority decisions alongside a dedicated engineering lead, engineers, and design partner, and be accountable for results. You'll take features from brief through launch, use experiment results to inform the next build, and drive metrics around how often guests plan, book, and share trips with people they know. You'll also craft the product narrative explaining each release to leadership and guests. Key responsibilities include: - Writing crisp briefs and requirements grounded in real guest needs with clear success metrics - Building working prototypes yourself using AI tools to explore ideas and test with guests - Driving execution across engineering, design, data science, and program management from concept through launch - Going deep on details: reviewing builds, testing flows, and chasing edge cases that determine feature success - Shaping how connections integrate across the guest journey (search, booking, Trips) - Building shareable, delightful moments like the travel map to grow the social graph - Partnering across social graph, social experiences, Trips, Search, Checkout, and other teams - Designing for trust and privacy from the start with clear user controls - Establishing goals and weekly metrics reviews so the team knows its standing - Partnering with data scientists on experiments and making clear calls on what to scale, iterate, or stop - Presenting strategy and results to leadership with clear narratives on complex tradeoffs You'll work in a new, fast-moving area where you set the roadmap and build the team's operating rhythm. The role requires comfort with Pacific Time Zone work hours and occasional office visits or offsites as agreed with your manager. Requirements: - 8+ years in product management or product marketing with a track record of moving a core consumer metric (engagement, retention, sharing, or conversion) through features you led to launch - Experience building social or network-driven products: sharing, invites, feeds, profiles, group features, or connection-based recommendations - Deeply AI-native in how you work: use AI tools daily for prototyping, research, specs, and analysis; have changed how your team builds because of it - Obsessed with details: go as deep as needed with engineering and design, from data to edge cases, to ensure shipped work drives great outcomes - Strong execution and bias for action: led cross-functional teams through complex launches on time at high quality; move fast on reversible decisions - Fluent in experiment results: define what tests need to learn, read growth metrics alongside guardrails (trust, privacy, satisfaction), turn results into product decisions - Strong judgment of consumer product quality, high bar for craft, clear sense of what makes experiences fun, useful, and worth sharing - Comfort working in new, fast-moving areas where you set roadmap and build operating rhythm - Ability to earn trust of engineering, design, and data science partners and lead without formal authority - Clear, structured writer and communicator who distills complex tradeoffs for executives and translates strategy into actionable guidance - Preferred: experience at a consumer marketplace or travel company, or launching a new social product at scale
