Skoove is a profitable, growing music-tech company seeking a Product Manager to own the music catalogue and licensing strategy for its piano learning apps. This is a high-impact role at a pivotal moment for the company. You will own the complete catalogue lifecycle: which songs are licensed, at what cost, under what rights, and what impact they have on learner engagement and retention. You are the commercial and rights voice in product decisions, working alongside a didactics lead (who owns pedagogy) and a content producer. Together, you decide which songs carry the teaching content. Key responsibilities include: - Own catalogue strategy: decide what music to add, retire, and why, backed by learner data and evidence - Co-own song selection within didactics with the pedagogy lead, bringing your rights and catalogue perspective - Build commercial models: track licence cost per subscriber and per song, revenue share, catalogue coverage against learner value, and conversion effects of licensed content - Manage the rights picture: maintain current understanding of which repertoire is held, under what terms and territories, and what each licence permits in the product. Ensure no song ships uncleared - Represent Skoove with publishers and labels: prepare negotiating positions, evaluate term sheets, identify assumptions worth challenging, and document relationships. You will start supported by the CEO and an external licensing advisor, with the goal of taking full ownership within the first year - Own contractual reporting: ensure usage reports, payments, audits, and disputes are handled on time and in agreed formats - Monitor usage against plan: track usage share per publisher, identify dilution against targets, and act when numbers move. Translate licensing constraints and opportunities into product decisions - Own the content unit's backlog and work with the team engineer to turn priorities into progress. Prototype with AI coding tools and contribute to the product owner round The role is based in Berlin-Friedrichshain with an international team. The company operates with lean hierarchies and fast decision-making. You can work up to 60% remote. Benefits include EUR 2,500 annual learning budget, 28 vacation days, and yearly offsites. REQUIREMENTS: - 3+ years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years in a role with clear ownership and responsibility. Product management experience is preferred, but backgrounds in music licensing, rights, catalogue, partnerships, or commercial roles are also welcome - Working understanding of the music licensing world: you know what a publisher, PRO, and mechanical licence are; you have seen how rights affect a product; you are curious to learn more - Piano playing experience or learning history far enough to remember what was hard. You understand the learner's journey from the inside: what motivates beginners, what makes them quit, what keeps them coming back - Financial modelling depth - German language skills in addition to English - Music tech, e-learning, gaming, or consumer entertainment background (nice to have) - European work permit required - Based in Berlin or willing to relocate - 30–40 hours per week, your preference - Bonus: examples of product work you've built, decisions you've made, and results you've driven
