Synthesia is hiring a Product Manager to own Interactive Avatars, a real-time avatar API platform currently in closed beta. This is a 0→1 product opportunity with significant scope: you'll define the developer-facing API surface, integration patterns, real-time experience quality, and commercial model as the product scales from beta to general availability. The core problem: developers today must stitch together multiple systems (streaming pipeline, rendering, agent, real-time infrastructure) to add lifelike avatars to their products. Synthesia has the avatar technology and a working beta; you'll turn that into an API developers can integrate in an afternoon, trust in production, and build businesses on. Your responsibilities include owning the end-to-end API (SDK, docs, integration patterns, roadmap), getting close to beta developers to understand integration friction and production requirements, translating that feedback into clear product direction, working with engineering and research teams on specs and trade-offs, partnering with go-to-market on packaging and pricing, and defining metrics across adoption, integration success, real-time quality, reliability, and commercial signals. You'll need 5+ years in product with direct experience owning a developer-facing API, SDK, or platform. You're comfortable in early-stage, discovery-driven environments where the roadmap is still forming. You have strong technical fluency in real-time systems and latency trade-offs, and you can write clear specs and strategy docs that teams can act on. You understand that adoption is won or lost in the first integration hour and that quality for real-time avatars (presence, responsiveness, latency, interruption handling, expressiveness) is both subjective and critical. You think commercially about how developer products get adopted, packaged, and monetized. Synthesia is the world's leading AI video platform, used by 90% of the Fortune 100. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in London with US offices, the company raised $200M in Series E at a $4B valuation, with $530M+ total funding from Accel, NVentures, Kleiner Perkins, GV, and other premier investors.
